We were successful at getting an appointment with the Oncologist, Dr. Holoye after the weekend hospital stay. His recommendation was to stay on the same treatment plan we had in place, primarily to keep taking Nexavar and look for signs that the lesions are dead or dying. He also left me on the blood thinners until the danger of embolism in the lungs or elsewhere passes following the TACE.
Now that we are not tied to the transplant team we are exploring seeking a second opinion from MD Anderson.
The blood thinners makes me vulnerable to any injury or recurrence of GI bleeding. Any bleeding now can turn into a crisis situation.

Hey Ray - did you memorize that line or did you have to google it from Willy Wonka? :) That's great to hear they are proceeding with a plan..but can you get a 2nd opinion for the transplant as well, or do their findings preclude you from being considered for a transplant anywhere else in the country (have you been blacklisted? :))
