Well today I go in for a tooth extraction. I have put this off for some time but now that I am under attach from within I don't need a tooth infection to take me out.
Tomorrow we go to MD Anderson for an introductory visit. I will report what we find out.
Again another rant about out of control medical costs. MD Anderson wants to order a CT Scan for Chest, Abdomen and Pelvic. I alerted that I would bring them all the latest scans from ST. Lukes. They said great, we can compare them to ours. What's wrong with the ones ST. Luke did? How about. That's great then we don't need these. If you remember back, ST Lukes/BCM did not like the MRI that was taken at Hermann Memorial so they ordered their own. Is this just a way to make as much money as possible? Keep those MRI's CT scanners busy making $$$$$$
I am getting the message through to Rae Nell. She went to a new dentist yesterday who wanted to do xrays of her mouth. She had xrays from two other dentists this year and refused to submit to another. She said whe would bring the data. One win for the public.

ReplyDeleteIt surely does make one wonder why each hospital thinks it is the only one with "acceptable" equipment, doesn't it? Unfortunately, if you refuse to let Anderson do their own scans, they'll probably refuse to treat you.
