10/24 - Nurse Rae

For the past two days nurse Rae Nell has done the honors of draining fluid off my lung cavity through the new Denver catheter. This yielded 500 ml the first day and 600 ml the next. I am now breathing much better and am not using oxygen.

The wound needs some time to repair but that should only take a few days. Still hard to find a comfortable position to sleep.

As for all the procedures and fighting the bed I have lost range range of motion. This is what the PT was to improve upon.

Good weekend of football. Texas A&M, the Texans, Mich St, and Dallas all won this weekend. Too bad Iowa St.

  1. Glad you're breathing better, at least, Ray. Hospital beds are not comfortable, no matter how you try to arrange yourself (just ask a new mom who's trying to find a way to nurse her new baby without dropping it over the side!--yes, I still remember, even 30 years later. LOL!).

We continue to pray for you all, daily and with confidence that you are resting in God's hands.

    Sue.

  2. Ray - I am so glad you are able to breathe easy. What a relief. You are lucky to have your family helping you through this time. Good thing it is football season or you would be losing your mind!

  3. Ray, So good that the draining is going smoothly and that you are breathing easier. Now, if your wounds will just heal up quickly. Then you can concentrate on winning some games.

    Love, Cathie
