On Friday we spent most of the day at MD Anderson having a Denver Catheter installed. Last night and today, I am recovering from the insertion of the catheter.
The catheter is somewhat stiff and a portion of it sits on top of the lower rib. Thus it will take some time getting used to it. The catheter was installed on my left side and back, the two positions that I am comfortable sleeping. With the aid of pain killers, I was able to sleep on my right side s1ome and spent the rest of the night on my back.
In general, it's hard to find a position I am comfortable in either sitting or lying down. I think I will try the first draining on Monday unless I have more trouble tomorrow.
I'm sleepy from the pain killers and finding it hard to type. I will write more later.
Sleep is good, unless you are driving. Enjoyed our short visit. You get some sleep and we will keep on driving.
