9/6 - Tough Weekend

Just as I start to believe I am getting better something new shows up. I have been having trouble getting to sleep both at bed time and when I get up in the middle of the night. I finally realized the issue was that when I get in a prone position I have trouble breathing and start gasping for air, increasing my breathing rate. In this position I can't get my lungs fully inflated. So I am having to sleep upright in my easy chair which then wears on my back.

Before this latest trial, I was able to keep the back pain down by interchanging sitting getting prone. Now I am sitting all the time.

I sent messages and am am seeking answers from MD Anderson, Dr. Kaseb, as to why this is happening and what a solution might be. 10:30 AM I heard back from Sheree, Dr. Kaseb's, nurse that they are moving my appointment up to this Thursday and are ordering a chest x-ray. I am just waiting to hear from the scheduler.

  1. Ask them to write an RX for a CPAP machine... ...you'll get plenty of air to your lungs Bro! rw

  2. Maybe you need a bed with capability to elevate your upper body somewhere between prone and sitting up?
