The week was characterized by good and bad days. On the bad days I sat around or slept most of the day. On good days I have energy early and but run low at around 4pm.
Today Friday Jane and I went to MD Anderson and saw the Supportive Care Doctor, Del Fabbro and the research nurse for the Testosterone study I am in. There was good news and and some very disturbing news. First we got a report on my testosterone and the levels are now at the upper end of the normal range meaning I did not get in the placebo class.
The disturbing news is that between the 8th and 16th of the month my bilirubin total had changed from 2.0 mg/dl to 4.3 mg/dl. This in conjunction with other symptoms I have been taken on recently are indicative of the final stages of liver failure. Liver failure generally involves the sudden onset of confusion and coma.
I contacted Dr. Kaseb to alert him of this change in my condition. His response was he was happy to continue to monitor my condition and let Supportive Care help with my symptoms.
Note: I looked into the anonymous comments postings and only found other bloggers with the same complaint but no real satisfactory solution. If you have trouble please email me at rbarrington1407@gmail.com.
Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you and your family, Ray.
