1/29 - Another up and down week

Struggled with irregularity and fatigue again this week.   I believe the Lasix prescribed for the fluid buildup in my lungs is dehydrating me.  I weighed in at 154 this morning which is as light as I've been since I was a teen.

However last night I discovered a wonderful elixir that I think can help, Coke. I ordered the large Coke and Popcorn at the movies last night and drank the entire Coke myself.   While Coke has long been taboo in my diet for obvious reasons, those reasons are now perfect for why Coke works for me.  The sugar gives me a temporary energy boost.  I need the weight gain. I can drink lots because it tastes so good and I need the fluids.  Now if I can just keep my teeth from rotting out, Coke is OK with me.

My goal today is eating and drinking.  Bet you wish you could say the same but you wouldn't want the other baggage that goes with it.

  1. Wow! you get to drink Coke all the time! lucky you. But, you know, it's what the pediatrician told me to give my kids when they were having viral gastroenteritis and getting dehydrated, so I think it makes sense for you, too. The doc used to tell my kids to rinse their mouths with plain water, after drinking the Coke, to rinse most of the remaining sugars out of their mouths. If you're at home, you could do that. Or have a slug of water after the Coke--if you swish, it's the same effect.

We continue to pray for you, and your family, Ray.
