8/31 - All Done With the Cellulitis

Saw my family doctor, William Lee, for a followup on the cellulitus episode. He said the infection is all cleared up and advised to stop the antibiotics. We talked about the total of drugs I was taking and he provided insight as to the drug interactions and risks. He recommended discontinuing the Lasik as it is responsible for loss of electrolytes that is causing cramping. The down side is my legs and feet will likely swell up even more than they have been. I will try doing without the Lasik for a few days and see what happens.

Otherwise I am finally gaining some weight that I don't think is all water. The waffle diet appears to be working. I'm now at 155 whereas I was at 145 a few weeks ago. Goal is 160. I have been exercising and my strength is improving slowly. The thing that bothers me the most is fatigue. I get tired very easily and struggle with motivation to get up and do anything.

My next MD Anderson is this Friday when I see the Supportive Care doctor. He is trying to help with my fatigue problem and general well being. I am also supposed to see Mrs Colombo for another testosterone injection. I'll report again on Friday.

  2. I'm glad the cellulitis is finally gone! those infections are not fun, especially if one is already weak.

Maybe your Supportive Care doc can give input on drug interactions, too.

Hope to hear good news following the Anderson visit.

  3. P.S. my doctors have me take my water pill (it's not Lasik, I can't remember the name because it's multisyllabic Latin!) every 3rd day because I get leg cramps if I take it more often. Would that work for you?

  4. Thank goodness the Cellulitis is gone. It didn't sound like any fun. I'm surprised your doctor would recommend stopping the Lasik. Looks like you could add electrolytes but what do I know. Richard had big problems with cycling, sweating would bring on the cramps if he didn't stay on top of his electrolytes
Take care and keep plugging. Love, Cathie
