5/4 - All is Well

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while but it's really because the news is good.  I have been really busy on a number of projects that have kept me going from early AM to deep into the night.  Other than a few aches and pains I am feeling and doing well.

The action all started last Wednesday when I started tearing out the cabinet tops in the kitchen in preparation for new granite counter tops to be installed last Friday.  That carried into Thursday night as well because with the exposed view of the construction I found a cavity that was not being used.  So I set out to find a door to build to but found a whole complete cabinet.  My measurements indicated that I plenty of margin but when I started cutting the hole I found three 2x4s that ate up the margin and then some.  Also in the process I cut through the electrical wire and killed the Refrig. After the counter tops were installed I started reconstructing the sink, installing a new dishwasher, new garbage disposal and a new stove top.

In addition to all this I signed up for a motorcycle class to get my endorsement for my license again.  This was 8-5 Saturday and Sunday. and involved 3 hours classroom instruction and 5 hours of practicing motorcycle skills on a hot parking lot.  Done with that and it's another trip to the hardware store and plumbing until midnight.  I was successful with the CC class as I scored a 98 for the written test and was perfect with the skills test.

Now it's Wednesday and I am just finishing the installations in the kitchen.  So, this is why I have not blogged lately.

My next medical event is a EGD on the 12th to confirm  the success of the varices repair that Dr. Raj did a few week ago.  Then I will likely see Dr. Kaseb to start the Avastin treatments in June.

  1. Hi, Ray--

I'm back in town, and able to reply to your posts. Celebrated Easter with my mom and family members in Michigan. He is Risen! He is risen, indeed. Alleluia!

When you finish your countertops, you may come do mine. LOL!

Seriously, I'm glad you're doing so well. The local (Michigan) forecast was predicting only a slight chance of rain...I hope the tulips are out for you. We saw two (count 'em, two!) during the two weeks I was there. But other things are beginning to bloom. Tuesday night, it got down to 35. Coming back to Houston is a shock to my system!

    Sue.

  2. I am pleased to hear that you are doing so very well. I know that being busy is always helpful when going through tough times. Our fields are so full of wild flowers I wish you and Jane could see them. And now we have "baby" calves frolicking about and laying in the meadows. I feel truly blessed to be here and witness the beauty that God has so lavishly provided. Stay well my friend and tell Jane Hi.
    Blessings, and Hugs,
    Karen

  3. WELL! "Also in the process I cut through the electrical wire and killed the Refrig." C'mon DoubleE... wasn't that in "TAMU House Wiring 101"? I'm glad you didn't serve as part of the circuit! Love you Bro. RW
