Had the EGD procedure yesterday. The purpose of this investigation was to get an all clear so Dr. Kaseb at MD Anderson could start me on the Avastin. The results were stated in medical terms but I interpreted them as 1) the banding of the varices from three weeks ago was successful and 2) that there were not any new issues of concern. I'll let Dr. Kaseb make the final determination.
The X-ray of my sternum came back inconclusive but showing possible evidence of a fracture. The radiologist wanted better data and ordered a CT scan. I declined the CT scan before getting a recommendation from MD Anderson. Today I heard back that Dr. Kaseb was OK with having someone else do a CT scan. Now the question is before Hawaii or after Hawaii. I'm opting to wait as I don't think I will consent to a repair procedure before we leave for Hawaii next Wednesday. The pain is subsided somewhat and I am finding ways to cope with the inconvenience.
