Dr. Raj described the absence of varices or ulcers in my upper intestinal tract as a "miracle". Dr. Raj was the GI who did the first repair of the initial bleed that started this whole affair. He expected that he would have to do three more procedures to fully resolve the varices with bands. Today when attempting the first of the three EGD procedures, he didn't find anything to repair, hence no varicies. We have pictures to prove it.
So the blood tests that indicate that my liver function is trending toward normal is backed up by the findings today. Now we can look forward to finding out that the lesions are being impacted by the radiation and chemo treatments in early November.
Additionally, today I have felt better than I have since July. My appetite has returned and I am feeling alert and strong. Hopefully, it's not because I discontinued the chemo NEXAVAR for a few days in prep for the EGD. I will know in a couple of days as I restart Dr. Holoye's poison.
But for now. I'm celebrating. Thanks be to God!
